The OXIDE Frequad-W is a single-frequency, continuous-wave 213 nm deep-ultraviolet (DUV) laser designed for applications requiring a stable, narrow-linewidth UV source with excellent beam quality. As the shortest-wavelength model in OXIDE’s Frequad CW laser range, the Frequad-W combines proprietary wavelength-conversion technology with high-quality nonlinear crystals to provide reliable 213 nm output for advanced scientific and industrial applications.
The Frequad-W delivers 10 mW or 20 mW of output power at 213 nm, with a spectral linewidth of less than 0.005 pm and an extinction ratio greater than 100:1. The laser produces a TEM₀₀ beam with vertical, linear polarisation, providing the controlled optical characteristics required for precision spectroscopy, microscopy and semiconductor applications.
A key advantage of the Frequad-W is its combination of high stability and low-maintenance operation. OXIDE’s proprietary high-purity BBO crystal technology is designed to minimise degradation during long-term operation, with the manufacturer reporting more than 3,000 hours of operation at 10 mW or 20 mW output. A high-speed, high-precision voice-coil motor (VCM) servo system provides precise locking and stable continuous-wave operation.
The Frequad-W is also air-cooled, eliminating the requirement for a separate water-cooling system. The laser head measures 240 × 840 × 160 mm and the complete system operates from a standard 100–240 VAC, 50/60 Hz supply, with power consumption below 300 W.
Applications include semiconductor inspection, photoemission spectroscopy, UV Raman spectroscopy, UV microscopy, photoluminescence and fibre Bragg grating (FBG) writing. Its narrow linewidth, stable output and 213 nm wavelength make the Frequad-W particularly suited to precision optical measurement and DUV instrumentation.
