Frequad-C

The Frequad series of CW 266 nm DUV Lasers is composed of deep-ultraviolet (DUV) wavelength (266 nm) continuous wave (CW) single-frequency wavelength conversion lasers which have more than 20 years of history.

OXIDE’s highly reliable wavelength-conversion crystals have enabled stable CW laser operation and precision voice coil motors (VCMs) achieved by proprietary high-speed servo-locking technology.

OXIDE offers 4 Frequad variants depending on the desired output. (Frequad-HP, Frequad-M, Frequad-C and Frequad-NI).

Main Features:

High Damage Threshold BBO Wavelength Conversion Crystal

• The outstanding quality of OXIDE’s own BBO crystal provides over 3000 hours single-spot lifetime at 1 W output power, and over 1000 hours at 2 W. Furthermore, the little deterioration of the crystal assures stable motion for a long period of time at high beam quality.

Highly sophisticated servo-lock technology

• OXIDE’s unique high-speed, high-precision voice coil motor (VCM) servo actuator offers stable CW operation of laser

Low power consumption

• The highly efficient wavelength conversion laser system realized extremely low power consumption – less than 340 W.

• Compact Laboratory Spectroscopy
  • The Frequad-C’s small footprint and freedom from ancillary infrastructure (no chiller, no purge gas) make it straightforward to integrate into benchtop spectroscopy setups. At 266 nm it excites a wide range of UV-absorbing analytes including nucleotides, aromatic amino acids, and many organic compounds.
• OEM & Instrument Integration
  • The compact head dimensions (153 × 202 × 79 mm) and low power consumption (<70 W) are well matched to integration inside commercial instruments and OEM platforms where space and power budgets are constrained, and where air-cooled operation is a meaningful engineering advantage.
• UV Fluorescence Excitation
  • The Frequad-C provides a practical CW source for exciting native protein and nucleic acid fluorescence in analytical chemistry and life science instruments — a cleaner alternative to lamp-based sources where spectral purity and beam quality matter.
• Research-Scale Photolithography
  • For direct-write patterning or photoresist exposure on photosensitive materials, the Frequad-C provides adequate power at 266 nm for many resist systems in a format requiring no specialist laboratory infrastructure beyond a standard power outlet.
• Education & Demonstration
  • The self-contained, plug-and-play nature of the Frequad-C makes it a practical choice for teaching laboratories and demonstration setups where a deep-UV CW source is needed but operating complexity and safety infrastructure must be minimised
