Gentec-EO power detector heads use proprietary absorber coatings developed in-house, giving industry-leading damage thresholds and broad spectral coverage from 190 nm to 20 µm. Every head ships with NIST-traceable calibration embedded in the smart DB15 connector — no manual entry required when paired with any Gentec display or PC interface.
UP55N SERIES — HIGH-POWER THERMOPILE, 55 mm APERTURE
The most widely used thermopile range for moderate to high-power CW applications. The 55 mm aperture accommodates most collimated or weakly focussed beams. Available in four cooling configurations: convection (40 W), heatsink (100 W), fan-cooled (300 W), and water-cooled (500 W). Spectral range 190 nm – 20 µm; damage threshold up to 45 kW/cm² at 1064 nm. Also measures single-shot energy up to 200 J.
UP16K-QED SERIES — COMPACT 16 mm, VOLUME ABSORBER
Uses Gentec’s QED volume absorber — designed for pulsed beams with high energy density, where tightly focused or high peak-power pulses can damage surface absorbers. Damage threshold: 100 kW/cm² (among the highest on the market). Available from 4 mW to 100 W (water-cooled); energy mode up to 500 J. Also available in the UP52K-QED variant (52 mm aperture) for larger beams.
XLP12 SERIES — LOW-POWER THERMOPILE, 12 mm APERTURE
A low-power thermopile with noise levels approaching a photodiode, giving broadband thermal-detector response and durability at sensitivity levels (0.5 µW NEP) not normally achievable with thermopiles. The XLPF12 variant adds an integrated IR filter to reject background radiation. A volume absorber version (XLP12-VP) is available for ultrashort pulse (ps/fs) lasers at low average power.
