The Quantel by Lumibird Q-Smart HE is a high-energy, Q-switched Nd:YAG laser designed for demanding scientific, industrial and research applications requiring high pulse energy, excellent beam quality and reliable operation. Combining proven Q-Smart technology with an amplified laser architecture, the Q-Smart HE delivers pulse energies of up to 2.3 J at 1064 nm, making it suitable for applications requiring powerful, short-duration laser pulses.
The Q-Smart HE series includes the Q-Smart 1200, Q-Smart 1500 and Q-Smart 2300, providing different energy and repetition-rate configurations. The Q-Smart 1200 delivers up to 1.2 J at 1064 nm, while the Q-Smart 1500 provides up to 1.5 J and the Q-Smart 2300 reaches 2.3 J per pulse. Depending on the model, repetition rates of 10 or 20 Hz are available.
A key advantage of the Q-Smart HE is its integrated plug-and-play harmonic generation, enabling operation at 1064 nm, 532 nm, 355 nm and 266 nm, with 213 nm available on request. Automatic phase-matching simplifies wavelength conversion, allowing users to select the appropriate output for their experimental requirements. For applications requiring enhanced spectral purity, an optional Single Longitudinal Mode (SLM) configuration provides a linewidth of ≤0.005 cm⁻¹ at 1064 nm.
The system incorporates robust ceramic reflectors, detachable cables and cooling lines, and an intuitive graphical user interface. Water-to-water cooling is standard, with optional chiller configurations available. The flashlamp warranty extends to 50 million shots or one year, subject to the manufacturer’s conditions.
Typical applications include LIDAR, laser-induced fluorescence (LIF), spectroscopy, laser ablation, laser peening, particle image velocimetry (PIV), combustion research, photochemistry, OPO pumping and Ti:Sapphire pumping.
