The Peacock XT from Quantel by Lumibird is a fully integrated, widely tunable nanosecond laser system developed in collaboration with GWU-Lasertechnik. Combining a solid-state Nd:YAG pump laser with an optical parametric oscillator (OPO), it delivers high-energy laser pulses across a broad wavelength range, making it suitable for demanding spectroscopy, imaging and scientific research applications.
The Peacock XT 355 uses a 355 nm pump laser, integrating Quantel’s Q-Smart technology with an advanced OPO. It provides tunable output from 405nm to 2850nm, with pulse energies of up to 90mJ and repetition rates of 10 or 20Hz, depending on the configuration. For applications requiring faster acquisition, the Peacock XT-MW integrates a diode-pumped solid-state laser, supporting repetition rates of 50, 100 or 200Hz.
A key feature of the Peacock XT is its automated, shot-to-shot wavelength tuning. This allows users to rapidly switch wavelengths without manual adjustment, supporting wavelength-dependent measurements and high-throughput experiments. Integrated wavelength measurement, real-time energy monitoring and attenuation provide additional control over experimental conditions.
The system offers both free-space and optional fibre-delivered output, supporting integration into laboratory experiments and more complex optical setups. Its compact, integrated design and intuitive control interface help simplify operation while providing flexibility for research and OEM applications.
The Peacock XT is ideal for spectroscopy, photoacoustic imaging, laser-induced fluorescence, biotechnology, remote sensing and LiDAR. With its broad tuning range and configurable repetition rates, it provides a versatile platform for researchers requiring precise, wavelength-selectable nanosecond excitation.
