The MGPA amplifier is a unique Moglabs design featuring the Moglabs MFP compact pre-amplifier. The MFP pre-amplifier is a cost-effective low-power fibre pre-amplifier based on Er and Yb doped active fibres. It uses an internal DFB or external seed laser providing output power from 300mW (wavelength and seed power dependent). The pre-amplifier operating wavelength ranges include 1000 to 1100nm for Yb and 1530 to 1610nm for Er active fibres.
The MGPA amplifier takes amplification up to 1W beyond the pre-amplifier depending on wavelength and seed power. Options include internal or external seed, such as a DFB diode or MOGLabs CES. A waveguide frequency doubler can be incorporated to cover 510 to 550nm and 765 to 805nm.
