The Photon etc. HypIRia series comprises high-performance short-wave infrared (SWIR) imaging lenses designed for demanding industrial, scientific and research applications. Engineered for use with SWIR cameras and hyperspectral imaging systems, HypIRia lenses deliver bright, high-quality images across a broad spectral range, supporting applications that require detailed imaging beyond the visible spectrum.
Designed to operate from 1.0 to 2.9 µm, the HypIRia range combines wide apertures with image-space telecentric optics to provide high optical throughput and minimise aberrations. Broadband anti-reflective coatings and carefully selected optical glass help maximise light transmission across the SWIR region, making the lenses well suited to imaging low-light signals and capturing subtle spectral features.
The HypIRia series is available in three focal lengths: 11 mm, 15 mm and 25 mm, allowing users to select the appropriate field of view for their imaging system. The 11 mm lens provides a wide field of view for larger scenes, while the 25 mm option offers a narrower field of view for applications requiring greater image magnification. All three models feature an image size of 12.3 mm and a minimum working distance of 300 mm.
A precision translational focusing mechanism provides stable adjustment and repeatable focus, while the robust mechanical design supports integration into industrial inspection systems and field-based instrumentation. With standard C-mount compatibility, the HypIRia lenses can be integrated into a range of SWIR imaging platforms.
Typical applications include hyperspectral imaging, industrial inspection, food and agricultural sorting, mineral analysis, process monitoring and materials characterisation. When paired with compatible SWIR cameras such as Photon etc.’s L-EOS systems, HypIRia lenses provide a flexible optical solution for capturing spatial and spectral information across the short-wave infrared region.
