The Gigashot HE and Gigashot L from Cutting Edge Optronics are high energy, short pulse diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) lasers based on either Nd:YLF or Nd:YAG.
The Gigashot HE Nd:YLF laser delivers 10J at 1053nm, whereas the Gigashot L Nd:YAG laser delivers 125mJ per pulse at 355nm, 180mJ at 532nm or 250mJ at 1064nm with an operating laser repetition rate of 100Hz.
Both the Gigashot HE and Gigashot L use a Master Oscillator-Power Amplifier (MOPA) configuration utilising several opto-mechanical design practices found in CEO’s ruggedised airborne laser products resulting in a laser that is highly resistant to optical misalignment and requiring no user adjustments. This MOPA configuration allows CEO to obtain a near field flat top beam profile.
High efficiency, ultra-long life quasi-continuous-wave (QCW) pump diodes allow the laser to operate for many billions of shots. Diode pumping also delivers excellent pulse-to-pulse and long term stability.
Both Gigashot models are supplied with a 2 year/10,000 operating hour diode warranty.
