FLIM System for Laser Scanning Microscope

FLIM upgrade

Upgrade a confocal microscope to carry out fluorescence lifetime imaging (FLIM) with these highly modular systems from Becker & Hickl.

Becker & Hickl have been supplying FLIM systems for laser scanning microscopes since 1998 and now offer highly modular FLIM systems that can be configured to upgrade any confocal laser scanning microscopes to carry out fluorescence lifetime imaging.

Based on b&h’s proprietary multi-dimensional TCSPC technique, the FLIM systems are based on a ps blue or UV fiber coupled diode laser, a detector module (single, dual or multiwavelength) and electronics based on single TCSPC module with routing, or on a multimodule TCSPC system (based on SPC-150N). There are FLIM system for one-photon and multiphoton microscopes, and for confocal and non-descanned detection.

Pulsed laser light is fed into the microscope with a single-mode optical fiber. A high speed detector (GaASP), connected to the optical output of the scan head collects the output signal from the sample and with TCSPC allows a picture of the fluorescence lifetime of the sample to be built up.

Becker & Hickl supply upgrade kits for many popular microscope systems including:

Zeiss LSM 710/780/880, Zeiss LSM 510 one photon and 510 NLO, Leica SP2 and SP5 (Multiphoton), Olympus FV 1000 Confocal Microscopes and Nikon C1, A1, TiE
