id210 Near IR Photon Detector

The id210 near infrared, high speed, single photon counting detection system from ID Quantique brings a major breakthrough for single photon counting detection at telecom wavelengths (900 - 1700nm).

The id210 performance in high-speed gating at internal or external frequencies up to 100MHz by far surpasses the performance of existing detectors and of its predecessor, the -id201 that has been used by researchers around the globe since first launched in 2002.

Two grades for the id210-SMF are now available - standard grade (STD) and ultra-low noise grade (ULN). A rate limited version for the id210-SMF and id210-MMF is now available so for customer not interested in a 100MHz trigger rate, a cheaper id210 with a 20MHz trigger rate (the free-running mode is always included) can be supplied. The device can be later on remotely up-graded from 20MHz to 100MHz.

With the option of free-running mode enabling detection at any time, photons can be detected with probability up to 25% at 1550nm. All this while maintaining low dark count, a timing resolution lower than 200ps, adjustable delays, adjustable gate duration from 0.5ns to 25ns and adjustable deadtime up to 100µs. Besides performance, particular attention has been paid to providing a practical user interface on the id210.
